Financial Literacy With Local Youth
FNC Bank proudly sponsored New Richmond Middle School students to participate in Junior Achievement's BizTown event. On Friday, December 1, approximately 230 sixth-grade students had an enriching day of learning at JA BizTown, a 12,000 square foot simulated city located at the Junior Achievement St. Paul headquarters.
During this experiential learning lab, students worked in one of the 18 JA BizTown shops, gaining insight into what it takes to run a successful business, manage a debit card and checking account, and collaborate as a team. FNC Bank staff and other volunteers guided small groups of students, helping them make important business and personal finance decisions at their assigned JA BizTown shops.
Through daily lessons, hands-on activities, and active participation in this simulated economy, students developed a strong understanding of how the knowledge gained in school can be applied in the real world. We take pride in our sponsorship of this event and our commitment to promoting financial literacy among the youth in our communities.
